Patterns
Candy Cane
You can do a candy cane pattern by alternating red and white lights, but if you want to make it interesting, mix it up a bit. Try using 2, 3, or even 4 red and then the same number of white lights. Or, if you want a look reminiscent of an old fashioned candy cane, you can do 2 white and 3 red in a repeating pattern. Red and white stripes are a great way to show off your Christmas spirit.
Red, Green, and White
Of course you can’t go wrong with the traditional Christmas colours of red and green for your holiday lights, but we like to throw in a little white too to spice things up a little. You can do a simple repeating pattern of the three colours or you can make up your own pattern with different numbers of each colours. Multi Coloured Classic
Remember the old incandescent bulbs that you’d climb up a ladder to hang and that came in a rainbow of colours to make your house look festive? Well, even though you’ve given up the hassle of putting up traditional lights, you can still evoke that nostalgia with multi-coloured lights in a pattern of your choosing. You can either make up your own pattern as you go or you can choose from one of the many patterns available in the Gemstone Lights Hub app.
Animations
A great way to set your permanent outdoor Christmas Lights apart from all the other houses on the block is to use animations.
Starry
Have your lights shine in the colours you want at random intervals with this great pattern that looks like stars in the night sky. This animation looks great with all of the patterns mentioned above!
Flow
A repeating sequence of colours that push through all of your lights and then repeats over and over! This is a great animation to use at holiday time and really stands out if you go with a multi-coloured pattern with 2, 3, or 4 lights in each colour!
Motionless
We’d be remiss if we didn’t include the motionless animation in this round-up. Sometimes, great lights don’t need any movement!
